Soaking in that Vitamin D!

It is that time of year, folks. That time of year where I get so antsy and fidgety and just straight up bleh. Bleh is the scientific term here. Winter. The worst season of them all.

I know I cannot actually complain too much this year because compared to last year, this winter is straight up mild. And our neighbors in the east coast are being bombarded with feet of snow. We have had, what? One icy, sort of snowy day? Not too bad.

And now I just jinxed it all and March will be horrendously freezing and blizzard. You're welcome.

But, still. We have had the below freezing temperatures and endless grey days and that just starts to get to me. I can handle 45 degrees and sunny with no wind and spend time outside, but that no sun just eats at my soul.

And then, this past weekend we had 60+ degree temperatures! Sure, I had to work Saturday, but you better believe I took advantage of that warmth and glorious sunshine.

My fiance (J) and I met my sister and the two little ones at the Missouri Botanical Gardens to walk around and hang out. PX is now almost three and he loved going to the Gardens. When it isn't winter time, there is a children's area that amazing. It has slides to go down and areas to climb up and it has a music area and all sorts of hands-on activities. I think I have as much fun as he does when we are in there. But it does not re-open until April so that was not an option for him this time around. B is only one and she does not really care what we are doing, but she seemed to enjoy watching her big brother feed the koi fish at the Japanese Garden area.

My sister is a member so when I go with her, it is free for me to get in. I have been meaning to become a member for a long time, and I told J that we will be doing that sooner than later and he agreed. There is something about the Gardens, even when not a whole heck is blooming, that just makes such a lovely day.

It may still be the dead of winter, but we will given a taste of Spring and I cannot wait for the warmth to be here for good. We can make it!
